Frequently Asked Questions

If you are buzzing for more answers keep reading below.

The short answer is, no. Our products contain high concentrations of bio-active honey. If you’ve ever had a bad reaction to a bee sting or exposure to bee products, it’s best to avoid honey.

While the risk may be low, and you may not necessarily have an anaphylactic reaction to our products, we would prefer that you stay safe and well, and that we avoid the cost and inconvenience of a protracted lawsuit so, please, don’t use them.

This depends on which point along the ideological spectrum you find yourself. Technically, as honey is an animal-derived product, we cannot claim our products to be vegan.

However, you can be assured that neither bees nor vegans were harmed at any stage in their creation. So in that regard, yes, our products are vegan-friendly. Further, our products are only tested on consenting humans, all ingredients are 100% natural and all packaging is 100% recyclable.

While the medicinal benefits of Manuka honey are well established for a range of applications, we haven’t yet jumped through the various regulatory hoops that would see our products listed as therapeutic goods with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Therefore, we can suggest how to use our lip treatment, but we can’t make any claims about its medicinal effects.

We are currently working towards having Kiss Me Honey! Lip Treatment licensed as a therapeutic good in Australia.

Studies confirm the antiviral effects of Manuka honey at a broad range of concentrations, and that even a 10% solution of Manuka honey is at least as effective as 5% aciclovir cream (common commercially available cold sore creams) in reducing severity and speeding healing of cold sores.

Our Jellybush honey lip treatment contains a whopping 40% high-MGO Activated Jellybush honey delivering all the powerful anti-viral and healing effects of Australian Manuka. Also, our polling suggests that many of the existing creams on the market cause unwanted side effects such as drying, burning, peeling and discomfort of the lips with regular use.

Even some of the “natural” ones are petroleum-based creams. Our Kiss Me Honey! All Natural Lip Treatment provides moisturising, healing and protective effects and can safely be used anytime, for extended periods.

Many all natural “paste” and “stick” type deodorants have poor consistency and stability over a range of temperatures, often making them incompatible with Australian climes.

They can go from rock hard in winter to clumpy, soft and greasy in summer. Also, owing to their formulations, many can cause staining and discolouration of clothes with regular use.

At belle bee, being natural chemistry nerds, we delved into what’s behind these unwanted effects in chemical terms. No Bee-O! All Natural Deodorant has been scientifically formulated with all natural ingredients to be a powerful deodorant with consistent, light, pleasant skin feel across all seasons, whilst minimising the molecular interactions that cause staining and bleaching of fabrics.

Yes. This cream also has excellent anti-microbial and emollient properties due to its high concentration of activated honey and all natural ingredients, so it makes a good blemish treatment. It is moreover a fantastically light, soothing, healing moisturiser that works well under other products such as foundation, sunscreen and make-up.
